Geomancer is a research project and publication by artist Summer Orr.

Summer Ester Orr is also a potter, naturalist, gardener and flower freak residing in so-called northern california.

The word "geomancy", from Late Greek geōmanteía, translates literally to "foresight by earth".

These are currently the different offerings (subject to change):

Free Subscriber: You’ll receive a semi-regular email update about ceramic, ecology, craft happenings from yours truly. These updates might have offerings like: shop links to when I post work for sale online, print sales, zine PDFs, residency resources, wood-firing pictures, research findings, or whatever else!

Paid Subscriber: ($5 a month / or $30 a year when paid in full ) For someone who just wants to support what is essentially a coffee every month, that is the middle tier. You like what I make! Woohoo, I’ll send you a postcard / sticker / small print on an every other monthish basis as a part of “Mail Service”. You get full access to any extras the same as free subscribers (i’m imagining recipes, PDFs of zines, film photo archives, etc) but also get first notice of when I’m posting up work on my online store. Subscribing in this way is also just a very kind gesture and a way to support my work from afar.

For Emissaries or “founding subscribers”: ($90 contribution or pay what you can) You will also receive “mail service” and I’ll periodically send out tangible items/objects in the mail. Some form of prototype for various art-objects that I might release to the larger public. Think: ceramic buttons, dice, brushes, dye experiments, candle experiments, stamps, book-making experiments, etc.

This is the founding subscription, the top of the tier. You essentially get to test out these different objects or print media experiments, and get first dibs on if I make more — or input, or a voice in the matter, a collaboration of sorts.

All support is greatly appreciated, thanks for reading GEOMANCER!
